Free Advent Talk:
The Lay Division is pleased to present a free talk for Advent, entitled “Remember the Promise,” by Scott Elmer of the Archdiocese of Denver. The talk will be at 6:30pm on Monday, December 9, 2019, at Bonfils Hall on the campus of the St John Paul II Center (1300 S Steele Street, Denver 80210) and can be enjoyed by attending in person or by livestream on your personal device. Mr. Elmer currently serves as the Executive Director of Evangelization and Family Life Ministries at the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver.
A Brief Description:
Advent is commonly referred to as the season of hope. It is a time when Catholics are invited to remember the promise of salvation and sanctify themselves for the coming of the king and his kingdom. We cannot hope in what we do not remember, we cannot remember what we do not know, and we cannot know what has not been proclaimed. Come join us for an evening of proclaiming and claiming God’s great and generous promises of salvation and victory as we prepare for the Lord’s coming again at Christmas.
If you want to view the talk via livestream, the link will be made available the afternoon of the talk, on December 9th. If you want to attend the event in person at the St. John Paul II Center, please click here to sign up because seats are limited.
Cost: $50.00 (your payment for this course will go towards our JPII Student Scholarship Fund)
Dr. Ben Akers (Associate Professor Theology at Augustine Institute and previous Director of Denver Catholic Biblical and Catechetical Schools) recently taught a five-part Short Course titled, “The Way of Discipleship in the Gospel of Mark.” All five lectures were filmed on location at the St John Paul II Center for the New Evangelization in Denver and are now available online, which means that you can still enjoy all five lessons whenever and wherever you’d like (registration required)!
