The third year of study returns to the Old Testament to explore the prophetic literature. With an overview of salvation history from the first year and a close study of Jesus Christ and His mission from the second year, students are now ready to tackle the prophets and connect the crucial dots between the Old Testament promises and their fulfillment in Christ. As we study each of the major and minor prophets, we consider their particular context, intended audience, and the meaning behind the imagery that they employ. By diving into the darkness of Israel’s infidelity and the light of God’s promised salvation, we will find not only historical connections, but also modern relevance.
